Villablanca
The beautifully picturesque pueblo of Villablanca is located in the heart
of the Spanish countryside in Costa de la Luz benefiting lovely views
over the valley of orange orchards, olive groves and strawberry fields.
As the name suggests Villablanca is built solely of traditional white
Spanish houses that add to the natural beauty of the area when gleaming
in the daily sun. This tranquil location is definitely a place where
you can get away from it all; while away the afternoon sitting in
the village square, or relax drinking coffee on the cobbled village
streets with the locals whilst the horse and cart passes by. The
village offers a range of traditional bars, cafes and restaurants
and a supermarket.
Villablanca provides country living but with the added advantage
that the E1 motorway is only a 5 minute drive away. This links
Seville to Faro and making all the other towns and amenities
in the region very easily accessible. The busy town of Ayamonte is
only a 10 minute drive. Faro Airport is 45 minutes and Seville
airport 1 hour drive. There are numerous championship golf courses
in the region all easily accessible by the E1 motorway. Islantilla
Campo de Golf is just 15 minutes drive. There are many stretches
of fine golden sandy beach all away along the entire coastline
to choose from. The nearest beaches are Islantilla- 15 minutes
drive and Isla
Canela also 15 minutes.
Islantilla
The attractive Spanish holiday resort of Islantilla is located just 20kms
east of the Spain-Portugal border. The coastline is an endless stretch
of fine golden sandy beach complete with a delightful promenade perfect
for walking or cycling. There are numerous traditional Spanish cafes
and restaurants along the beachfront great for sampling the local cuisine
and the fresh catch of the day. The resort has a well established commercial
centre providing good shops and boutiques and other facilities. The
town comes alive in the summer months when Spanish holiday makers from
Seville and Madrid come to enjoy the area.
At the back of the resort
is the popular Islantilla Campo de Golf development, which is a unique
27 hole course, combining championship standard golf with holiday
home complexes. Holes 1-18 are of challenging championship standard
that played host to the 1996 Tour Espana Competition. A commercial
centre in Campo de Golf is due for completion in summer 2004.
Islantilla is only 10 minutes drive away from the E1 motorway
which links the major cities of Seville, Huelva, and Ayamonte and
then continues into Portugal all the way to Faro . Seville airport
is an hour drive and Faro is
just 45 minutes. Isla Cristina
Located in the western part of the province, in Costa
de la Luz , Isla Cristina is a modern town with a long seafaring
tradition, a great place all sorts of regional products, from salted
meats to canned fish.
Once an island but now surrounded by marshes this town constitutes
an important fishing port & popular summer resort. It is located not
far south east of Ayamonte .
Here, the visitors can enjoy many attractions. Namely, the magnificent
beaches and marine resorts, such as Islantilla, Centro, and Punta del
Caimán. The carnaval and
the Atlantic Coral Festival are also famous. In the township we find
the marshes of Isla Cristina Nature Park, containing habitats with different
salinity levels, where we can observe a rich and diverse flora, and a
remarkable number of birds. Isla Cristina has twelve kilometres of golden
sand beaches, transparent waters and three thousand hours of sun a year.
There are great conditions for practicing surf and other water sports,
as well as an excellent sunny weather almost all year long. There is
a seafront paved and lit, with Chiringuitos, cafes and restaurants with
patios surrounded by a tier of pines and eucalyptuses. Lepe
Lepe is famous as the strawberry capital of Spain, and unfortunately
its inhabitants are is also the subject of hundreds of Spanish jokes.
The main beach in Lepe - Beach of La Antilla, just 5 km from the city,
it's an open air place in front of the sea which counts with more than
20 km of littoral. Due to the growth of tourism in Spain during the
60's, Lepe and its beach, La Antilla, began to detach as a touristic
spot of interest.
The proliferation of infrastructure developments
in the 70's benefited the area, increasing the flow of tourists,
mainly national and more concretely proceeding from the interior of
Andalucia. During the summer, the municipal government promotes many
sport activities, combining classic sports with new disciplines. The
windsurf is one of the most popular water sports due to the weather,
so appropriated for the practise of this sport during the whole year. |
